Our Fees
The fees associated with defending drunk driving
prosecutions vary depending on the circumstances of the
individual case. Most cases are handled on a flat fee
basis. That means that the client is charged a flat fee
for all professional services rendered in defending the
charge through a certain stage in the proceeding. For
example, the attorney and client may agree that the
client will be billed no more than a minimum flat fee
unless the case goes to trial. Alternatively, some cases
may require that clients be billed on an hourly basis.
In those instances, the client is billed each month for
the time his or her attorney devotes to the matter over
the preceding thirty days. An hourly fee arrangement may
be appropriate where the circumstances of the case
require significant administrative proceedings and/or
extensive pre-trial discovery and motion practice.
Irrespective of whatever fee agreement is reached,
the most important consideration is that the client have
complete confidence in his or her lawyer. The cost of
representation should only be a minor part of the
equation when it comes to the selection of a defense
attorney. Experience, trustworthiness and dedication to
the client’s needs and concerns are the most important
attributes a person should keep in mind when deciding in
whose hands they will place their liberty and
livelihood.
